It seems that Mamafest is on a roll, throwin’ down a bigger and better event every year with Mamafest 2003 as our best event yet! The Mamafest village was buzzin’ all day long with snowboard demos, live music, a beer garden, a kick-butt competition, tons of prizes and lots people educating themselves and raising money for breast cancer research.

Supporters raised over $13,000 in the fight against breast cancer with donations made to the University of Washington Medical Genetics Clinic and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Throughout the day DJ’s Ki and Carlo kept the crowd movin’ between killer sets by The Senate Arcade, Visqueen and the Amazombies.

The first ever Mamajam Half pipe competition was a huge success, with both snowboarders and skiers rippin’ up the pipe and the beer garden, sponsored by Pilsner was, not surprisingly, another big hit. Not to mention, pro snowboarder Kelly Clark was on hand meeting people and signing autographs all day. But the highlight of the day for many lucky folks was the raffle where winners walked away with everything from t-shirts & jackets to backpacks, boots, bindings, and boards.

The winners were: Men's Pro (1,2,3) - Josh Charles, Matt Clengsen, and Blue Montgomery; Men's Am (1,2,3)- Colin Clarke, Tim Ganstrom, Gorio Bustamante; Women's Pro (1,2,3) - Marni Yamada, Jenny Tofe, Allison O'Brien; Women's Am (1,2,3) - Lily Tapert, Tracey Olsen, Amy Palumbo; Grom - 1st Max McIntire; and 1st Place Skier - Charley Marian, Best Trick - Tyler Forman.
